Check The Fit Before You Drive
- Compare tongues. Lay the clip's steel tongue on your Infiniti belt tongue. Width and slot shape must match.
- Plug in and pull. Click the clip into the buckle, then pull it straight up hard.
- Belt in and pull again. Fasten your belt into the clip and tug the belt sharply. Neither joint should move.
- Release. Press the raised button down once. The belt should come free cleanly.
- Seated check. Lap belt low on the hips, shoulder strap across the collarbone, clear of the neck.

Which Infiniti Models Does The Metal Clip Extender Fit?
The supplier lists the FX35, QX70, Q50, G35, G37, QX56, I30 and Q30. Apart from the Q30, these are all Nissan-based Infinitis, which is why one design can cover them. Always compare the tongue with your own belt tongue and run the pull test before your first drive.
Why Should Q30 Owners Check The Fit First?
The Q30 and QX30 were built at Nissan's Sunderland plant on the same platform as the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, so their seat belt hardware may differ from other Infinitis. How Is It Different From A Genuine Infiniti Seat Belt Extender?
Infiniti's own extenders are short webbing straps of up to about 8 inches, matched to your car by VIN, for belts that are too short to fasten. The clip extender is a compact rigid plug that raises the latch point for easier reach. If you need extra belt length, a webbing extender is the right choice.
Can I Leave It Plugged In Or Link Two Together?
Neither. A clip left in an empty buckle can make the car think that seat is belted, which defeats the seat belt reminder. Linking two clips adds another joint that can fail and moves the buckle onto your abdomen. Use one clip per seat, always with the belt fastened through it.
Is It Suitable For Children Or During Pregnancy?

In pregnancy, keep the lap belt low beneath the bump and the shoulder strap between the breasts, and use an extender only if the belt cannot fasten correctly, after speaking to your midwife or GP.
