A decade sourcing automotive parts taught me how much gets sold as a seat belt extender with no business near a vehicle's safety system. So I built the alternative: ECE R16 certified, ISO 9001:2015 manufactured, full stop.
01 — THE ORIGIN
WHY A PARTS-TRADE VETERAN STARTED A SEAT BELT EXTENDER COMPANY
My name is Piotr Nartowski, and I founded Seat Belts Extender UK after more than a decade working in the automotive aftermarket parts trade — sourcing, inspecting, and distributing components for garages and retailers across the UK.
That job taught me something most drivers never get to see: how much of what gets sold online as a seat belt extender has no business being anywhere near a vehicle's safety system. No ECE R16 testing. No traceable manufacturing standard. Just a metal buckle and a strap, listed for £8.99 with a stock photo and no paper trail behind it.
A seat belt extender isn't a phone case. It sits directly in the chain that's supposed to keep you or your child in place in a crash.
I wasn't comfortable seeing that treated like a throwaway impulse buy — and I didn't want to keep distributing parts I couldn't personally stand behind.
