This extender is universally compatible with most vehicles manufactured from 2000 onwards, including cars, vans, SUVs, and motorhomes. It fits standard 23 mm and 36 mm wide buckle tongues. The main exceptions are Hyundai, Kia, and Mitsubishi vehicles, plus a handful of specific models listed in our compatibility table above. If your vehicle is not on the incompatible list, the extender should fit.
3 Can I use this with a child car seat? +
This extender can make it easier to access and fasten the seat belt when installing a child seat, but it should never be used between the child seat and the child. The extender connects to your vehicle's buckle only. The child seat then attaches to the extender's receiver as it would to the original buckle. Always follow your child seat manufacturer's installation instructions.
4 Will this set off my seat belt warning chime? +
No. The extender replicates the connection your original seat belt tongue makes with the buckle, so your vehicle's sensor system recognises it as a properly fastened belt. The warning chime will turn off as normal once the extender is clicked into place and your seat belt is fastened into the extender.
