The XT4 is Cadillac's compact crossover, and sitting higher does not make the belt easier to fasten. A tall centre console still swallows the front buckle, and the second-row latches sit low against the bench. A certified extender brings the connection point back into reach, front or rear.
The Problem
Ride height helps you get in and out, not buckle up. What matters is the relationship between your hip and the buckle stalk, and in the XT4 the console runs high enough alongside the seat to push that stalk into a narrow slot you cannot see into. In the second row a 60/40 bench puts the outer latches down against the cushion, so passengers reach behind the hip for them. Add a winter coat and either position becomes a fumble.

The XT badges sit next to each other in the brochure, but the XT4 is built on a different platform from the two above it and has a different seat count. Check yours before ordering anything.

Which market is your XT4 from?
Unusually for a Cadillac, the XT4 was sold in Europe as well as North America, and European cars were offered with a 2.0 diesel that was never available in the United States. North American production at Fairfax in Kansas finished in January 2025, while the XT4 continued to be built in Shanghai for the Chinese market.
Three build sources and three specifications, so tell us which yours is. A European-market car, a North American import and a late Chinese-market car are not guaranteed to carry identical interior fittings. Your registration document and a photo of the latch plate settle it in a minute.
