Three Checks Before You Drive
- Tongue match. Hold the clip's 2 cm tongue against your Omoda's own belt tongue. They should share the same width and slot shape.
- Double pull test. Plug the clip into the buckle and pull it hard, then fasten your belt into the clip and pull again. Both joints must hold.
- Release and belt path. One press of the red button should free the belt. Seated, the lap belt sits low on your hips and the shoulder strap crosses your collarbone, clear of your neck.

Know When Not To Use It
- If your belt falls short of the buckle altogether, pick a strap-style car seat belt extender with real added length.
- If the factory buckle sticks or fails to latch cleanly, fix that first with a replacement buckle receiver.

Which Omoda Models Does The Clip Extender Fit?
Made for the Omoda 5 (C5) in petrol and hybrid form, the electric Omoda E5 (C5 EV), the Omoda 5 GT and the S5 GT (O5 GT). In the UK, that means the Omoda 5 and E5, both on sale since August 2024. How Much Higher Does It Lift The Buckle?
The receiver head is 5.3 cm long, so the latch point rises by roughly that much, within an 8.9 cm overall clip. That suits a buckle that sits low or tucks into the seat gap. For extra belt length rather than height, a strap-style extender is the better buy.
Is It Safe For Pregnant Passengers Or Children?
Not as a comfort aid for either. Never use any extender with a child car seat, booster or child passenger, as it moves the buckle and belt out of position; our UK child car seat rules guide explains what the law requires. In pregnancy, the lap belt goes low across the hips under the bump and the shoulder strap between the breasts; use an extender only if the belt cannot fasten correctly, after speaking to your midwife or GP.
Will It Affect My Omoda's Seat Belt Reminder?
It can if misused. Euro NCAP lists front and rear seat belt reminders as standard on the Omoda 5. A clip left in a buckle with no belt through it can register that seat as fastened, so the reminder stays quiet when it should not. Always fasten the belt through the clip, and unplug it from any empty seat.
