The Problem
Sitting higher in an SUV does not make the belt easier to fasten. What matters is the gap between your hip and the buckle stalk, and the Ateca closes that gap from both sides: a raised centre console on one side and a firmly bolstered sports seat on the other. The stalk drops into the slot between them where you cannot see it. In the second row the latches sit low against the bench, so passengers reach behind the hip. Add a winter coat and either position becomes a fumble.

CUPRA only became a brand in its own right in 2018, and the Ateca was the first car to carry it. Before and alongside that, SEAT sold the standard Ateca, and the hot version briefly wore SEAT badges before the split was complete. So three related cars exist: a SEAT Ateca, an early SEAT-badged Ateca Cupra, and the CUPRA Ateca this page covers.
The difference matters because the CUPRA has its own sports seats, and the belt tongue belongs to the seat rather than the body. If the badge on your boot says SEAT, order from our SEAT Ateca listing instead. If it says CUPRA, you are in the right place.
