CUPRA's first electric car puts a battery under the floor and a bolstered sports seat on top of it. Both change where the buckle ends up, and they change it differently in the front and the back. Work out which row you are fitting before you pick a length.
The Problem
Up front, the sports seat is the obstacle. A raised side bolster runs from your hip upward, and the buckle stalk sits on the far side of it with the console alongside, so your hand meets the seat before it finds the latch. In the back, the battery pack under the floor lifts the rear cushion, leaving passengers sitting knees-up and reaching further down than they would in a petrol hatchback of the same size. Add a winter coat and either position becomes a fumble.

The Born is built on Volkswagen Group's MEB electric architecture, the same platform under the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, Skoda Enyaq and Audi Q4 e-tron. Born owners lean on that overlap constantly when sourcing parts, and usually with good reason.
Be careful with belts though. CUPRA fits its own sports seats rather than Volkswagen's, and the belt tongue belongs to the seat rather than the floorpan. So a shared platform is a good starting point, not a guarantee. If you already have an ID.3 part in hand, photograph both latch plates side by side and send them over and we will confirm properly.
2021 to 2025, or the updated 2026 car?
The Born arrived in 2021 as CUPRA's first electric model and was substantially updated for 2026, with revisions inside as well as out. Changes of that scale are exactly where seat and trim components get quietly revised without appearing in a brochure.
So treat 2021 to 2025 and 2026 onward as two separate cars when you order. Select your exact year rather than rounding to the nearest one, and if you are between the two, send a photo of your latch plate and the slot it goes into.
Choose the style that fits where you sit
Three styles across our full extender range. In a Born the front and the rear want different things, which is why one extender rarely serves the whole car.
