The Tavascan combines two things that both make the buckle harder to reach: a battery under the floor and a coupé roofline over the rear seats. Add bucket seats up front and you have three different problems in one car. Work out which row you are fitting before you pick a length.
The Problem
Up front, the sports seat is the obstacle. A raised side bolster runs from your hip upward with the console alongside, and the stalk drops into the slot between them. In the rear, two things work against you at once. The battery pack under the floor lifts the cushion so passengers sit knees-up, and the sloping coupé roof lowers the door aperture so they duck in and settle lower still. The latch ends up behind and below the hip rather than beside it.

The one CUPRA not built in Europe
Worth knowing, because it sets the Tavascan apart from every other car in the range. The Leon and Formentor come from Martorell in Spain and the Terramar from Hungary, but the Tavascan is designed in Barcelona and built at the Volkswagen Anhui plant in Hefei, China, from December 2023 onward. It is the first CUPRA produced outside Europe, and in China the same car is sold with Volkswagen badges as the ID. Unyx.
A different build source is a reason to confirm rather than assume. If you are matching against a part listed for a European-built CUPRA, send us a photo of your latch plate and the slot it goes into and we will check properly before anything ships.
Year is not the thing to worry about here
Unusually for a CUPRA, the Tavascan has no generation split to navigate. The Leon, Formentor and Born all had substantial revisions within a few years of launch, so those pages ask you to treat earlier and later cars separately. The Tavascan has been through equipment changes rather than a redesign, including a new entry-level variant and a Black Edition.
What matters instead is the trim, because seat specification varies across the range. Tell us which version you have along with the seat you are fitting.
Choose the style that fits where you sit
Three styles across our full extender range. In a Tavascan the front and the rear want different things.
