Buckle Up Comfortably in Your Ferrari Purosangue

Unlike every other Ferrari, the Purosangue is easy to get into. Ferrari raised the seating position deliberately and gave the rear rear-hinged doors that swing to 79 degrees. So the difficulty here is not how low you sit. It is the tunnel running between all four seats.

The Problem

The V12 sits behind the front axle, drives a rear transaxle and sends power forward through a separate unit, so a substantial tunnel runs the full length of the cabin between all four seats. Each occupant sits in an individually adjustable bucket with a shaped side, and the buckle stalk drops into the slot between that seat and the tunnel. You reach down into a gap you cannot see, front or rear. A coat closes off what little room is left.

The Solution

A certified extender lifts the connection point up clear of the tunnel to where the hand already sits. One click into the car's own receptacle, one click with the factory belt tongue. Nothing is cut, drilled, or permanently attached, and it lifts straight back out.

Exceeds Break-Strength

Built to surpass international break-strength tests for three-point belts.

Four seats, four individual buckets, no center rear

The Purosangue is a strict four-seater with no bench option at any point in the range. Both rear seats are individual buckets, and it is the first Ferrari interior with four independently adjustable seats, each with a heated backrest and massage function.

So there are four belt positions and no middle rear seat to extend. Order by physical side: front left, front right, rear left or rear right. On a right-hand-drive UK car the driver's seat is the front right. Because all four seats adjust independently, judge the reach with each one set where its occupant actually travels.

The rear seats are genuinely easy to reach, which changes the answer

On most two-door Ferraris the rear problem is entry: you climb past a tilted front seat and end up settled in a position you did not choose, with the latch behind your hip. The Purosangue is different. Ferrari fitted electrically operated rear-hinged welcome doors that swing to 79 degrees, kept the front doors opening wider than on other models, and raised the seating position deliberately to make getting in and out easier.

You walk into the rear of this car facing forward rather than folding yourself into it. That means a rear passenger settles normally with the latch beside the hip, so reach rather than access is the issue back there, and a regular extender is more often the right answer than it would be in a Roma or a 612.

Front or Rear? The Answer Differs

All four seats sit alongside the same tunnel, but what actually blocks the hand is not identical, which is why one extender rarely serves the whole car.

Row What is in the way Usually order
Front The transaxle tunnel on one side and a bucket seat bolster on the other, with the stalk dropping into the slot between them. Rigid, 3 or 5 inch
Rear Reach rather than access, since the welcome doors let passengers walk in and settle normally. The seats also adjust. Regular, or adjustable where passengers vary

 Three Styles Explained

Three styles across our full extender range. Which one you want depends on whether the belt falls short or the buckle is out of reach.

Style Best for
Rigid A solid section in 3, 5 or 7 inch that stands upright and holds the buckle above the tunnel line. Usually the right answer in the front seats, where the bucket and the tunnel close in from both sides.
Regular Woven webbing in 7 inch or 10 inch matching your factory belt. The usual pick for the rear seats, where the problem is reach rather than height.
Adjustable Woven webbing with a sliding adjuster covering 9 to 26 inches. Sensible in a rear seat that adjusts independently and carries different passengers.

How it works

Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified. The whole thing takes about five seconds and lifts straight back out whenever you want it gone.

1

Click the extender's tongue into your seat belt receptacle.

2

Buckle your seat belt into the extender. Takes about five seconds, no tools needed.

3

To remove it, press the release button just like a normal belt.

Pick the shortest length that works

We recommend adding only the minimum length you need to buckle comfortably. More webbing is not safer, it just adds slack.

1.Pick the seat by side

Front left, front right, rear left or rear right. All four are individual seats, so each is ordered separately.

2.Set that seat where it travels

All four adjust independently, so judge the reach with the seat in the position its occupant actually uses.

3.Need help?

Send your year, seat position and a photo of the buckle, and our team will confirm the fit.

Made for

  • Plus-sized drivers and passengers
  • Anyone reaching past a full-length tunnel and a bucket seat bolster
  • Owners genuinely using all four seats, which is what this car is built for
  • Anyone with shoulder, back, or reach limitations

Good to know

  • Four individual buckets and no bench, so there is no centre rear belt
  • Rear access is easy here, so reach rather than entry is usually the issue
  • The rear seats fold, so check belts are clear after raising them

Satisfaction Guarantee

Questions Worth Answering

1Is there a five-seat or bench option?+
No. The Purosangue is a strict four-seater and no bench was ever offered, so both rear positions are individual bucket seats and there is no middle rear seat or belt. It is also the first Ferrari interior with four independently adjustable seats, each with a heated backrest and massage function, which is why the rear feels more like a front seat than a bench. Order by physical side rather than by description, and on a UK car the driver's seat is the front right.
2Do the rear-hinged doors change what I need?+
They change the rear answer, and in your favour. On a two-door Ferrari the rear difficulty is usually entry, because you climb past a tilted front seat and end up settled awkwardly with the latch behind your hip. The Purosangue's electric welcome doors open to 79 degrees and the seating position was raised deliberately to make access easier, so a rear passenger walks in facing forward and settles normally. Reach rather than access is therefore the issue back there, and a regular extender is more often the right choice than a rigid one. The fixed B-pillar means the belt anchors themselves are conventional.
3All four seats adjust. How should I measure?+
With each seat set where its occupant actually travels, not where it happens to be parked. The Purosangue is the first Ferrari with four independently adjustable seats, so the distance between hip and buckle is a variable rather than a fixed measurement, and a length chosen with a rear seat slid forward will come up short once it is back. If more than one person regularly uses the same rear seat at different settings, the adjustable extender is the sensible answer rather than committing to a fixed length.
4My rear seats fold for the boot. Anything to watch?+
Yes, and it matters because owners use this car properly. The Purosangue has the largest boot Ferrari has built at 473 litres, and the rear seats drop to extend it further once the luggage cover and rear bulkhead are stowed. Every fold and raise is a chance to trap a belt or a stalk behind a cushion, so glance at both before anyone sits back there. Judge the reach with the seat raised and locked rather than part-folded, and make sure any extender is clipped into the receptacle rather than wedged beside it.
5I sit high in this car. Should buckling up not be easier?+
Getting in is easier, and Ferrari designed it that way, raising the seating position for a more useful hip point without giving up the driving position owners expect. Fastening the belt is a different matter. What decides that is the relationship between your hip and the buckle stalk, and the Purosangue puts a substantial tunnel down the centre of the cabin because the V12 drives a rear transaxle and sends power forward through a separate unit. The stalk sits in the slot between that tunnel and your seat bolster, which is why height helps you board but not buckle.
6Will a GTC4Lusso or Roma part fit?+
Worth asking about, though with less confidence than on some other Ferraris. The GTC4Lusso was Ferrari's previous four-seater and shares the broad idea of a front-mid V12 with four-wheel drive, but the Purosangue is an all-new chassis with a carbon roof, four doors and a completely different cabin. The Roma sits in the same era and some cabin thinking carries across, but it is a 2+2 coupé on another platform. In every case the belt tongue belongs to the seat rather than the chassis. Photograph both latch plates side by side and send them over and we will compare them properly.
7Can I use one with a child seat in the rear?+
No, in any position and in any car, and the Purosangue is the Ferrari where that most needs saying because it is the one people genuinely use as a family car. A child restraint is engineered around the vehicle's own belt path and anchor geometry, and an extender changes both while introducing slack. Use the anchor points fitted to your car and follow the restraint manufacturer's instructions. If a seat will not install cleanly in one rear position, try the other, change the seat, or use a different car for that journey. Never add an extender to make an installation work.
8Is it road legal here, and will it mark the interior?+
Our extenders carry E4 or E8 type approval, the European mark showing the part has been tested and approved to the relevant standard, and they are made in a UK-registered factory compliant with ISO/TS 16949:2009 to exceed international break-strength requirements for three-point belts. Nothing is cut, drilled or permanently attached, so the car returns to exactly as it was when you unclip it, and the latch plate has a smooth finish rather than a machined edge, which matters against semi-aniline leather and Alcantara. Watch for an unbuckled extender left hanging against the tunnel trim, since any hard part allowed to rub will eventually mark it. If it does not fit, return it within the guarantee window, though a photo first usually saves the round trip.
