Hyundai Azera Seat Belt Extender

Product description
Shipping & Return
🛡E4 & E8 Certified · Built In A UK Registered Factory

Buckle Up Comfortably In Your Hyundai Azera

Azera is the export name for the Hyundai Grandeur, so a Korean import will wear a different badge to an American one. Establish which generation you have and which badge is on the boot, and the rest follows easily.

The Problem

Space is not the issue in a large saloon. Geometry is. The Azera drives its front wheels, so there is no propshaft tunnel, but the console still sits high and wide beside the seat and drops the buckle stalk into a slot you cannot see into. In the rear, a car built around back seat comfort still leaves the latch low against the cushion, and passengers reach behind the hip for it. Add a coat and neither position is comfortable.

The Solution

A certified extender lifts the connection point up out of that slot to where the hand already falls. One click into the car's buckle, one click with the factory belt tongue, and you are secured comfortably. Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified, and it lifts straight back out.

Which Azera Do You Have?

Hyundai has used the Azera name in export markets since 2005, across four generations of the car Korea calls the Grandeur.

Generation Years Worth Knowing
TG 2005 to 2011 The first car to carry the Azera name abroad, replacing the XG350 and XG30.
HG 2011 to 2016 A complete redesign that shares its underpinnings with the first Kia Cadenza.
IG 2016 to 2022 Facelifted partway through, so early and late cars differ inside.
GN7 2022 onward Mostly sold as the Grandeur now, on a newer platform shared with the Kia K8.

Every Azera In Britain Is An Import

Hyundai never brought the Azera to the UK. Its predecessor did reach us, sold here as the XG30, but from 2005 onward the car went to North America, the Middle East, China, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia and much of South America instead, and stayed at home in Korea as the Grandeur.

That spread means an import could have the wheel on either side, since South Africa, Singapore and Malaysia all drive on the left of the car. Give us the physical side rather than saying driver or passenger, and mention the market it came from along with the year.

Choose The Style That Fits Where You Sit

Three styles across our full extender range. The front and the rear want different things in a large saloon.

Style Best For
Rigid A solid section in 3, 5 or 7 inch that stands upright and holds the buckle above the console line. Usually the right answer in the front seats, where the console closes off the gap beside you.
Regular Woven webbing in 7 inch or 10 inch matching your factory belt. The usual pick for the rear bench, where the problem is reach rather than height.
Adjustable Woven webbing with a sliding adjuster covering 9 to 26 inches. Sensible for chauffeur and executive work where passengers change on every journey.

How It Works

Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified. The whole thing takes about five seconds and lifts straight back out whenever you want it gone.

1

Click the extender's tongue into your seat belt receptacle.

2

Buckle your seat belt into the extender. Takes about five seconds, no tools needed.

3

To remove it, press the release button just like a normal belt.

Pick The Shortest Length That Works

We recommend adding only the minimum length you need to buckle comfortably. More webbing is not safer, it just adds slack.

1.Confirm Badge And Generation

Azera or Grandeur, and which of the four generations. Both change the part you need.

2.Reach With Your Eyes Shut

If you find the latch by feel you need length. If your hand stops at the console, you need height.

3.Need Help?

Send your year, market, seat position and a photo of the buckle, and our team will confirm the fit.

Questions Worth Answering

1My Car Says Grandeur. Is This The Right Page?+
Yes. Grandeur is the Korean name and Azera is the name Hyundai used when exporting the same car from 2005 onward, so the two are identical vehicles with different badges. Anyone who imported theirs from Korea will find Grandeur on the boot and may struggle to match it to a catalogue. Worth knowing too that the latest generation has largely gone back to Grandeur even in export markets. Tell us the badge, the year and where the car came from, and we will match from the vehicle rather than the nameplate.
2Will A Kia Cadenza Or K7 Part Fit?+
Often, and it is the best place to start. The Kia Cadenza, sold as the K7 in Korea, is Kia's version of the Azera and shares its platform and engines generation for generation. The newer Kia K8 pairs with the latest Grandeur in the same way. Two cautions. Match the generations rather than just the models, since these cars changed together and a Cadenza from the wrong era will not help. And each brand fits its own seats, with the belt tongue belonging to the seat rather than the floorpan. Photograph both latch plates side by side and send them over.
3Which Generation Is Mine, And Does It Matter?+
It matters, because four distinct generations have carried the Azera name since 2005 and each brought a new interior. The TG ran from 2005, the HG from 2011 as a complete redesign, the IG from 2016 with a facelift partway through, and the GN7 from 2022 on a newer platform. Twenty years separates the oldest from the newest. Select your exact year rather than rounding, and if your car is an early TG or sits near a changeover, send a photo of the latch plate and the slot it enters as well.
4How Do I Tell Whether I Need Rigid Or Regular?+
Sit in the seat dressed as you normally travel and reach for the buckle with your eyes shut. If your hand finds the latch and the belt simply will not stretch to meet it, you need length, so a regular extender in the shortest size that reaches. If your hand meets the console or the seat side before it gets near the latch, you need height instead, and that is a rigid extender whatever your size. Worth knowing that the Azera drives its front wheels, so there is no propshaft tunnel and the gap beside the seat is wider than in a rear-drive saloon of the same size. The console alone is usually what blocks you.
5Is It Road Legal Here, And What If It Does Not Fit?+
Our extenders carry E4 or E8 type approval, the European mark showing the part has been tested and approved to the relevant standard, and they are made in a UK-registered factory compliant with ISO/TS 16949:2009 to exceed international break-strength requirements for three-point belts. Read your owner's handbook alongside the safety notes supplied before use. Extenders are only for people who cannot otherwise fasten the standard belt, and should never be used with a child seat or child restraint. The Azera was never sold new in Britain, so tell us the physical side and the market your car came from. If it does not fit, return it within the guarantee window for a refund, though sending a photo first usually saves the round trip.
