Hyundai Bayon Seat Belt Extender
Buckle Up Comfortably In Your Hyundai Bayon
The Bayon was designed for Europe and has been on sale here since June 2021, so British cars are right-hand drive and easy to match. The one thing to establish is whether yours falls before or after the 2024 update.
The Problem
Sitting higher in a crossover does not make the belt easier to fasten. What matters is the gap between your hip and the buckle stalk, and in a car built on supermini foundations that gap is narrow. The console sits close beside the front seat and drops the stalk into a slot you cannot see into. In the rear a compact bench puts the latch low against the cushion, so passengers reach behind the hip. A winter coat removes what little room is left.
The Solution
A certified extender brings the connection point back to where your hand already falls. One click into the car's buckle, one click with your factory belt tongue, and you are secured comfortably. Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified, and it lifts straight back out.

Before Or After The 2024 Update?
Hyundai revealed the facelifted Bayon on 18 January 2024. Outside, the front gained a full-width light bar and the rear bumper was reworked. Inside, twin 10.25 inch screens became standard across the range, and the UK engine line-up narrowed to a single 1.0 litre petrol where earlier cars had also offered a 120hp mild hybrid.
Interior revisions of that scale are where seat and belt components get changed quietly. Select your exact year rather than rounding, and if your car sits near the changeover, send a photo of your latch plate and the slot it enters.
Your Bayon Is An i20 Underneath
The Bayon is built on the third-generation i20, using Hyundai and Kia's K2 platform, and it replaced the i20 Active in the range. That same architecture carries the i20 and i30, the Kia Rio and Ceed, and several other models, which gives you an unusually large pool of related parts.
Several of those cars sell in far greater numbers in Britain than the Bayon does, so their components are easier to find. The usual caution applies though: the belt tongue belongs to the seat rather than the floorpan, and Hyundai fits the Bayon with its own seats.
Choose The Style That Fits Where You Sit
Three styles across our full extender range. The front and the rear usually want different things.
| Style | Best For |
|---|---|
| Regular | Woven webbing in 7 inch or 10 inch matching your factory belt. The usual pick for the rear bench, and often the front too, since the seats are modestly shaped. |
| Rigid | A solid section in 3, 5 or 7 inch that stands upright and holds the buckle above the console line. Worth it if your hand meets the console before it finds the latch, or in heavy winter clothing. |
| Adjustable | Woven webbing with a sliding adjuster covering 9 to 26 inches. Worth it in the rear of a family car where passengers change from journey to journey. |

How It Works
Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified. The whole thing takes about five seconds and lifts straight back out whenever you want it gone.
Click the extender's tongue into your seat belt receptacle.
Buckle your seat belt into the extender. Takes about five seconds, no tools needed.
To remove it, press the release button just like a normal belt.
Pick The Shortest Length That Works
We recommend adding only the minimum length you need to buckle comfortably. More webbing is not safer, it just adds slack.
1.Find Your Seat
Front driver, front passenger, rear window, or rear middle. Each is a separate order.
2.Reach With Your Eyes Shut
If you find the latch by feel you need length. If your hand stops at the console, you need height.
3.Need Help?
Send your year, trim and seat position, and our team will confirm the fit for your Bayon.
