Black 25cm rigid seat belt extender safety buckle for Hyundai Genesis

Hyundai Genesis Seat Belt Extender

Product description
Shipping & Return
🛡E4 & E8 Certified · Built In A UK Registered Factory

Buckle Up Comfortably In Your Hyundai Genesis

Two very different cars wore this badge at the same time: a four-door executive saloon and a two-door sports coupe. They share a platform and nothing else that matters here. Count your doors before you order.

The Problem

Both cars drive their rear wheels, so a transmission tunnel runs through the cabin and the console sits high beside the front seat, dropping the buckle stalk into a slot you cannot see into. After that they diverge. The saloon leaves rear passengers reaching behind the hip on a wide bench. The coupe makes them climb in past a tilted front seat and settle low in a sports seat, which is a different problem entirely.

The Solution

A certified extender brings the connection point back to where the hand already falls. One click into the car's buckle, one click with the factory belt tongue, and you are secured comfortably. Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified, and it lifts straight back out.

Exceeds Break-Strength

Built to surpass international break-strength tests for three-point belts.

Saloon Or Coupe?

Hyundai sold both under the Genesis name between 2008 and 2016. Counting the doors settles most of the order.

Car How To Recognize It Belt Positions
Genesis Saloon Four doors, executive proportions, a rival to the German saloons of its day. Five, including a centre rear position
Genesis Coupe Two doors, low sports seats, and rear seats you climb into past a tilted front one. Four. No centre rear position.

A Later Genesis Saloon Is A Genesis G80

Genesis was a Hyundai model before it became a brand. The saloon ran in two generations, the BH from 2008 with a facelift in 2011, and the DH from late 2013. When Hyundai established Genesis as a separate luxury marque, that second-generation DH was simply renamed the G80 in 2016 without being redesigned.

So a late Hyundai Genesis saloon and an early Genesis G80 are the same vehicle wearing different badges. The Coupe never made that move: it stayed a Hyundai and was discontinued in 2016 with no Genesis-badged replacement. Tell us the badge and the year and we will work from the car itself.

Every Genesis In Britain Is An Import

Hyundai marketed the Genesis worldwide with one deliberate exception: Europe. Neither the saloon nor the Coupe was ever sold here, so every example on British roads arrived privately from North America, Korea, the Middle East, Russia or elsewhere. China knew the car as the Hyundai Rohens, and the two-door as the Rohens Coupe.

Those markets are left-hand drive, so your car will have the wheel on the left. Give us the physical side rather than saying driver or passenger, since the driver's seat is the front left on yours and the front right on a British car.

Choose The Style That Fits Where You Sit

Three styles across our full extender range. The right one depends on your body style as much as your seat.

Style Best For
Rigid A solid section in 3, 5 or 7 inch that stands upright and holds the buckle above the console line. Usually the right answer up front in either car, and in the back of a Coupe.
Regular Woven webbing in 7 inch or 10 inch matching your factory belt. The usual pick for the rear bench of a saloon, where the problem is reach rather than height.
Adjustable Woven webbing with a sliding adjuster covering 9 to 26 inches. Worth it in the rear of a saloon carrying different passengers.

Hyundai Genesis Fitment Details

Feature Detail
Model Years 2008 to 2016 for both bodies. The saloon ran as the BH then the DH from late 2013.
Bodies Covered Four-door executive saloon and two-door sports coupe, sharing a platform but little else
Layout Front engine with rear-wheel drive, or four-wheel drive on some saloons, so a tunnel runs through the cabin
Seat Positions Five in the saloon including a centre rear, and four in the Coupe with no centre rear
Material Woven seat belt webbing or rigid metal extension, with a smooth-finish metal latch
Rear Seat Note On saloons the center rear belt uses a different stalk, so order it separately
Also Sold As Hyundai Rohens and Rohens Coupe in China, and as the Genesis G80 from 2016 for the saloon
Markets Sold worldwide except Europe, so every car in Britain is a left-hand-drive import
Certification E4 or E8 type-approved

How It Works

Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified. The whole thing takes about five seconds and lifts straight back out whenever you want it gone.

1

Click the extender's tongue into your seat belt receptacle.

2

Buckle your seat belt into the extender. Takes about five seconds, no tools needed.

3

To remove it, press the release button just like a normal belt.

Pick The Shortest Length That Works

We recommend adding only the minimum length you need to buckle comfortably. More webbing is not safer, it just adds slack.

1.Count The Doors

Four means the saloon with five positions. Two means the Coupe with four and no centre rear.

2.Reach With Your Eyes Shut

If you find the latch by feel you need length. If your hand stops at the console, you need height.

3.Need Help?

Send your year, body, market and seat position, plus a photo of the buckle.

Questions Worth Answering

1Is The Genesis Coupe The Same Car As The Saloon?+
Underneath they are related, but for our purposes they are different vehicles. Hyundai built the Coupe on the saloon's platform and sold both under the Genesis name from 2008, yet one is a four-door executive car with five seats and a centre rear position, and the other is a two-door sports car with four seats and none. The Coupe also has low sports seats and rear passengers who climb in past a tilted front one, which is a completely different problem from reaching across a saloon bench. Count the doors and tell us which you have.
2Is My Genesis The Same As A Genesis G80?+
If yours is a later saloon, yes. Genesis was a Hyundai model long before it became a brand. The saloon ran as the BH from 2008, facelifted in 2011, then as the DH from late 2013. When Hyundai set up Genesis as a separate luxury marque, that DH was renamed the G80 in 2016 with no redesign, so a late Hyundai Genesis and an early Genesis G80 are the same vehicle. The Coupe never made that transition and stayed a Hyundai until it was discontinued in 2016. Tell us the badge and year and we will match from the car.
3My Car Is An Import. Which Side Should I Order?+
Tell us the physical side rather than saying driver or passenger. Hyundai marketed the Genesis worldwide with one deliberate exception, and that exception was Europe, so neither the saloon nor the Coupe was ever sold in Britain. Every example here arrived privately from North America, Korea, the Middle East, Russia or China, where it was known as the Rohens. All of those markets are left-hand drive, which makes the driver's seat the front left on your car. Saying front left or front right removes the ambiguity.
4How Do I Tell Whether I Need Rigid Or Regular?+
Sit in the seat dressed as you normally travel and reach for the buckle with your eyes shut. If your hand finds the latch and the belt simply will not stretch to meet it, you need length, so a regular extender in the shortest size that reaches. If your hand meets the console or the seat side before it gets near the latch, you need height instead, and that is a rigid extender whatever your size. Both bodies drive their rear wheels, so a tunnel runs between the front seats and the front is usually the second case. In a Coupe the rear often is too.
5Is It Road Legal Here, And What If It Does Not Fit?+
Our extenders carry E4 or E8 type approval, the European mark showing the part has been tested and approved to the relevant standard, and they are made in a UK-registered factory compliant with ISO/TS 16949:2009 to exceed international break-strength requirements for three-point belts. Read your owner's handbook alongside the safety notes supplied before use. Extenders are only for people who cannot otherwise fasten the standard belt, and should never be used with a child seat or child restraint. Because the Genesis was never sold here, tell us the physical side and the market your car came from. If it does not fit, return it within the guarantee window for a refund.
