Hyundai Getz Seat Belt Extender

Product description
Shipping & Return
🛡E4 & E8 Certified · Built In A UK Registered Factory

Buckle Up Comfortably In Your Hyundai Getz

The Getz sold here in real numbers through the 2000s, so British cars are right-hand drive and straightforward to match. Two things narrow the order: your body style, and whether the car came before or after the 2005 facelift.

The Problem

A hatchback under four metres long has no room to spare, and the Getz puts the buckle stalk low down tight against the seat where you cannot see it. The front seats sit close to the sill on one side and the handbrake on the other, leaving barely a gap for a hand. In the rear a short bench puts the latch against the cushion. On a car now well over a decade old, a stiffening retractor makes all of it worse.

The Solution

A certified extender brings the connection point back to where your hand already falls. One click into the car's buckle, one click with your factory belt tongue, and you are secured comfortably. Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified, and it lifts straight back out.

Exceeds Break-Strength

Built to surpass international break-strength tests for three-point belts.

Before Or After The 2005 Facelift?

Hyundai revised the Getz in the autumn of 2005, showing the facelifted car at Frankfurt. The headlights were smoothed into a more angular shape, the body grew fractionally longer, and the engine range changed with a 1.4 litre petrol replacing the 1.3 and a new 1.5 diesel arriving. UK trim levels shifted too, with the earlier XL and GL dropped and the FX replaced by the sportier SXi alongside GSI, CDX and Sport.

Changes of that scale are where interior components get revised without announcement. Select your exact year rather than rounding, and if your car sits close to the changeover, send a photo of your latch plate and the slot it enters.

If Your Car Carries A Different Badge

British cars say Getz, so most owners here are in the right place already. Elsewhere Hyundai renamed it freely: Click in South Korea, Getz Prime in India, TB in Japan standing for Think Basic, Inokom Getz in Malaysia and Dodge Brisa in Venezuela. Australia and New Zealand even sold an electric conversion called the Blade Electron.

Assembly happened in South Korea, India, Venezuela, Malaysia, Taiwan and Egypt, and specification varied between them. If yours arrived as an import, tell us the badge, the year and the market and we will match from the vehicle rather than the nameplate.

Choose The Style That Fits Where You Sit

Three styles across our full extender range. In a car this small the problem is usually reach rather than height.

Style Best For
Regular Woven webbing in 7 inch or 10 inch matching your factory belt. The usual answer front and rear, since the seats are modestly shaped and the issue is reach in a tight cabin.
Rigid A solid section in 3, 5 or 7 inch that stands upright and holds the buckle visible above the cushion. Worth it if your hand meets the seat before it finds the latch, or in heavy winter clothing.
Adjustable Woven webbing with a sliding adjuster covering 9 to 26 inches. Sensible where the same seat carries different people on different days.

How It Works

Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified. The whole thing takes about five seconds and lifts straight back out whenever you want it gone.

1

Click the extender's tongue into your seat belt receptacle.

2

Buckle your seat belt into the extender. Takes about five seconds, no tools needed.

3

To remove it, press the release button just like a normal belt.

Pick The Shortest Length That Works

We recommend adding only the minimum length you need to buckle comfortably. More webbing is not safer, it just adds slack.

1.Check The Belt First

On a car this age, make sure a tired retractor is not the real problem before you buy anything.

2.Find Your Seat

Front driver, front passenger, rear window, or rear middle. Each is a separate order.

3.Need Help?

Send your year, body and seat position, plus a photo of the buckle, and we will confirm the fit.

Questions Worth Answering

1Is Mine Before Or After The 2005 Facelift?+
The headlights are the quickest tell. Hyundai revised the Getz in autumn 2005 and the updated car wears smoother, more angular lamps than the rounder originals. The body also grew fractionally longer, and the engine range changed, with a 1.4 litre petrol replacing the 1.3 and a new 1.5 diesel arriving. British trim levels moved at the same time, dropping XL and GL and swapping FX for the sportier SXi. Interior components often change quietly alongside updates of that scale, so select your exact year and send a photo of the latch plate if you are near the boundary.
2How Do I Tell Whether I Need Rigid Or Regular?+
Sit in the seat dressed as you normally drive and reach for the buckle with your eyes shut. If your hand finds the latch and the belt simply will not stretch to meet it, you need length, so choose a regular extender in the shortest size that reaches. If your hand meets the seat cushion before it gets near the latch, you need height instead, and that is a rigid extender. The Getz has modestly shaped seats and no substantial console, so most owners need length rather than height. Do the test in a winter coat if that is how you usually travel, because it changes the answer more than people expect.
3Does Three-Door Or Five-Door Change The Part?+
In the rear it can. Both bodies share their front seats, so a front-seat order is the same either way. The difference sits behind, where a three-door car has passengers climbing in past a tilted front seat and settling into a position they did not choose, while a five-door lets them step in and sit normally. That often pushes a three-door towards rigid in the rear and a five-door towards regular. Specify the body along with the exact position when you order.
4My Belt Pulls Out Slowly. Will An Extender Fix It?+
Probably not, and it is worth testing before you spend anything. Even the newest Getz is now well over a decade old, and most were bought as budget runabouts and worked hard, so a sluggish belt is often a tired retractor or webbing full of grit rather than a belt that is genuinely too short. Pull the belt out slowly to its full extent and see whether it reaches past the buckle with slack to spare. If it does, the mechanism is your problem and an extender will only add slack to an already lazy belt. If it stops short even fully extended, an extender is the right product.
5Is It Road Legal Here, And What If It Does Not Fit?+
Our extenders carry E4 or E8 type approval, the European mark showing the part has been tested and approved to the relevant standard, and they are made in a UK-registered factory compliant with ISO/TS 16949:2009 to exceed international break-strength requirements for three-point belts. Read your owner's handbook alongside the safety notes supplied before use. Extenders are only for people who cannot otherwise fasten the standard belt, and should never be used with a child seat or child restraint. Care is simple: wipe the webbing with a damp cloth and mild soap, avoid solvents and bleach, and replace it if you find fraying, a stiff latch, or after any collision. If it does not fit, return it within the guarantee window for a refund.
