Hyundai i10 Seat Belt Extender

🛡E4 & E8 Certified · Built In A UK Registered Factory

Buckle Up Comfortably In Your Hyundai i10

The i10 sold here in serious numbers across three generations before Hyundai ended European production in January 2026. British cars are right-hand drive and easy to match, so the only thing to establish is which generation you have.

The Problem

A city car has no room to spare, and the i10 puts the buckle stalk low down tight against the seat where you cannot see it. The front seats sit close to the sill on one side and the handbrake on the other, leaving barely a gap for a hand. In the rear a short bench puts the latch against the cushion, so passengers reach behind the hip. Add a winter coat and either position becomes a fumble.

The Solution

A certified extender brings the connection point back to where your hand already falls. One click into the car's buckle, one click with your factory belt tongue, and you are secured comfortably. Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified, and it lifts straight back out.

Exceeds Break-Strength

Built to surpass international break-strength tests for three-point belts.

Which Generation Do You Have?

Three generations reached Britain between 2007 and 2026. Your year narrows the part considerably.

Generation Years Worth Knowing
First 2007 to 2013 Built in Chennai, India. Replaced the Atos, and facelifted in 2010.
Second 2013 to 2019 A complete redesign, and the point at which European production moved to Turkey.
Third 2019 to 2026 Facelifted in 2023, and the generation that introduced the sportier N Line.

Production Ended, But Supply Has Not

Hyundai stopped building the i10 for Europe in January 2026, freeing capacity at its Turkish plant for an electric model. That ends nearly two decades of one of the best-selling small cars on British roads, and it means the number of i10s here is now fixed rather than growing.

It changes nothing about getting an extender. Ours are made to fit the buckle rather than sourced from Hyundai, so supply from us is unaffected by the model ending. Once we have confirmed the right part for your seat, that answer stays correct for as long as you own the car.

A Grand i10 Is Not An i10

Worth checking if your car came from outside Europe. Hyundai sells a larger, separate model in India and Southeast Asia called the Grand i10, and more recently the Grand i10 Nios, alongside a saloon version badged the Aura. Those are bigger cars on their own path, not the European i10 covered here.

Elsewhere the i10 has also appeared as the Dodge i10 in Mexico and the Inokom i10 in Malaysia. If your car wears one of those badges, or came from India, tell us and send a photo of your latch plate rather than ordering on the name alone.

Choose The Style That Fits Where You Sit

Three styles across our full extender range. In a car this small the problem is usually reach rather than height.

Style Best For
Regular Woven webbing in 7 inch or 10 inch matching your factory belt. The usual answer front and rear, since the seats are modestly shaped and the issue is reach in a tight cabin.
Rigid A solid section in 3, 5 or 7 inch that stands upright and holds the buckle visible above the cushion. Worth it if your hand meets the seat before it finds the latch, or in heavy winter clothing.
Adjustable Woven webbing with a sliding adjuster covering 9 to 26 inches. Sensible where the same seat carries different people on different days.

Hyundai i10 Fitment Details

Feature Detail
Model Years 2007 to 2026 in Europe, across three generations, with a facelift in 2023
Body Five-door city car, front engine and front-wheel drive, with no substantial tunnel
Seat Positions Front driver, front passenger, rear window, rear middle. Two rows, no third row.
Tongue Width [CONFIRM TONGUE WIDTH] buckle configuration
Material Woven seat belt webbing or rigid metal extension, with a smooth-finish metal latch
Rear Seat Note The center rear belt uses a different stalk from the window seats, so order it separately
Assembly Chennai in India for the first generation, then İzmit in Turkey for European cars
Related Models The Kia Picanto shares its platform and engines, and the i10 replaced the Hyundai Atos
Not Covered The Grand i10, Grand i10 Nios and Aura, which are larger separate models for other markets
Certification E4 or E8 type-approved

How It Works

Nothing is cut, drilled, or modified. The whole thing takes about five seconds and lifts straight back out whenever you want it gone.

1

Click the extender's tongue into your seat belt receptacle.

2

Buckle your seat belt into the extender. Takes about five seconds, no tools needed.

3

To remove it, press the release button just like a normal belt.

Pick The Shortest Length That Works

We recommend adding only the minimum length you need to buckle comfortably. More webbing is not safer, it just adds slack.

1.Confirm The Generation

2007 to 2013, 2013 to 2019, or 2019 onward. Each is a genuinely different car inside.

2.Reach With Your Eyes Shut

If you find the latch by feel you need length. If your hand stops at the seat side, you need height.

3.Need Help?

Send your year and seat position, and our team will confirm the fit for your i10.

Questions Worth Answering

1Which Generation Is Mine, And Does It Matter?+
It matters, because each redesign brought a new interior. The first i10 ran from 2007 to 2013 and was built in India, replacing the Atos. The second arrived in 2013 as a complete redesign and moved European production to Turkey. The third came in 2019, gained a facelift in 2023, and ran until production for Europe ended in January 2026. Nearly twenty years separates the earliest from the last. Select your exact year rather than rounding, and send a photo of the latch plate if your car sits near a changeover.
2Will A Kia Picanto Part Fit My i10?+
Often, and it is much the best place to start. The i10 and the Picanto have shared a platform and engines through successive generations, down to the same 1.0 litre three-cylinder unit in both. The Picanto also remains on sale in Britain now that the i10 has gone, so its parts are the easier of the two to find. Two cautions. Match the generations rather than just the models, since the two cars changed on slightly different schedules. And each brand fits its own seats, with the belt tongue belonging to the seat rather than the floorpan. Photograph both latch plates and send them over.
3Is A Grand i10 The Same Car?+
No. Hyundai sells a larger, separate model in India and Southeast Asia called the Grand i10, and more recently the Grand i10 Nios, with a saloon version badged the Aura. Those are different cars following their own development path rather than versions of the European i10, and they were never sold here. The i10 has also worn other badges abroad, appearing as the Dodge i10 in Mexico and the Inokom i10 in Malaysia. If your car came from outside Europe, tell us the badge and market and send a photo of the latch plate.
4How Do I Tell Whether I Need Rigid Or Regular?+
Sit in the seat dressed as you normally drive and reach for the buckle with your eyes shut. If your hand finds the latch and the belt simply will not stretch to meet it, you need length, so choose a regular extender in the shortest size that reaches. If your hand meets the seat cushion before it gets near the latch, you need height instead, and that is a rigid extender. The i10 has modestly shaped seats and no substantial console or tunnel, so most owners need length rather than height. Do the test in a winter coat if that is how you usually travel, because it changes the answer.
5Is It Road Legal Here, And What If It Does Not Fit?+
Our extenders carry E4 or E8 type approval, the European mark showing the part has been tested and approved to the relevant standard, and they are made in a UK-registered factory compliant with ISO/TS 16949:2009 to exceed international break-strength requirements for three-point belts. Read your owner's handbook alongside the safety notes supplied before use. Extenders are only for people who cannot otherwise fasten the standard belt, and should never be used with a child seat or child restraint, so use the ISOFIX points fitted to your i10 instead. If it does not fit, return it within the guarantee window for a refund, though contacting us first with your year and seat position usually gets the right part to you faster.
